FAA Pilot requirements

Instrument Instructor Helicopter (CFII)

Eligibility requirement

a) Hold at least a current Instrument pilot certificate (helicopter)
b) Be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
c) Receive and log ground training.
d) Receive and log flight training.
e) Pass the written exam.
f) Pass the oral and practical test.

Aeronautical experience

50 hours of cross-country flight time
40* hours of actual or simulated instrument flight training with FAA instructor

* min. 15 hours in a aircraft for with the instrument rating sought
